About Us
Eatonville High School students are an interesting mix of mostly rural and suburban children living near the base of one of the most beautiful mountains in the world. Many are extremely creative or gifted in their arts and love to share their gifts with others through all sorts of media. These notable people in our everyday lives include the academically gifted as well as athletes and artists, including musicians, actors, and dancers as well. Many of these people are greatly inspired and coached by many wonderful staff members and community volunteers.
Community is a strong aspect of our school. Through the many different clubs and leadership groups at our school, students have opportunities to involve themselves in all sorts of activities. Some of the more notable events are the regular toy drives, food drives, and blood drives that directly benefit local inhabitants and others in the Puget Sound area. On the opposite end, parents and community leaders commonly volunteer to help with sports and activities. It’s hard not to work with the community because of our placement directly in town, within easy walking distance of the local doctor’s office, bakery, grocery store, and library as well as the middle school and one of the district’s elementary schools. This is convenient for families.
There are many students who consider their friends from school a part of their family. The high school has a relatively small student body where most students know one another. Others are seldom excluded in this atmosphere. Many of the teachers also make themselves a part of this by keeping healthy, respectful relationships with their students and encouraging them in the dreams they pursue.
