On Monday, March 3rd, 2008, Eatonville High School will host Spring Student-Led Conferences and a College & Career Fair.  Conferences will run from 4:00pm to 8:00pm in the EMS gym. The College & Career Fair will be held from 5:00pm to 7:00pm in the EMS Commons Area. 

Parents, students, past graduates and community members are invited to meet with representatives from over thirty colleges, vocational schools, and labor organizations in preparation for educational and employment opportunities.  Students who participate in Student-led conferences will receive a 2% bonus in their English class and earn the privilege to register first for next year’s classes.  For more information contact the EHS Career Center at 360-879-1921.  You don’t want to miss this event!


Looking for a job after high school?  Mount Rainier National Park, Costco, and The Department of Natural Resources will have information available at the College & Career Fair for students wanting to work this summer.  The DNR is looking for applicants 18 years and older to fight forest fires this summer.  Stop by and pick up an application at the College & Career Fair as applications are due March 21st  to the DNR.


Eatonville High School Code number for SAT and ACT registration is 480335. The registration deadline for the next SAT (May 3rd) is April 1st.  Register for the Reasoning Test if you are planning to take the basic SAT.  Go to www.collegeboard.com.  The registration deadline for the next ACT (April 12th) is March 7th.  Go to www.actstudent.org.

**Note: Every SAT and ACT has a Late registration date for which there is an additional charge.


SAT Prep: DeVry University in Federal Way is offering a one-day SAT Review to high school students.  This no-cost day is planned to help students achieve high marks on their upcoming SAT exams.  This event will be held on Saturday, Feb 16th and Saturday April 19th from 8 am to 4:30 pm.  Lunch is included.  Pick up a flyer in the Career Center to find out how to register.  Space is limited, so reserve your space ASAP.


Green River Community College is hosting a Transition to College Event for students with disabilities on Monday, March 17th.  Lunch will be provided.  Pick up a flyer and registration form in the EHS Career Center.


The UW Tacoma Institute of Technology is hosting an Open House for high school juniors and seniors on Friday, March 7th at 1:00pm on the UW Tacoma campus.  The schedule of events is posted online at http://www.tacoma.washington.edu/tech/   or pick up a flyer in the EHS career center.


Applications for the Project H.O.P.E. (Health Occupations Preparatory Experience) internship program are available in the career center. This program supports students from rural and urban communities that are underrepresented in the health profession.  Project HOPE provides paid internships for students at health care agencies.  The deadline for applications is Friday, March 21st.


** Remember Seniors, the first draft of your Sr. Project Research Paper is due to English Teachers March 4th. **


Attention Seniors: The new lists of classes opening this spring and fall at both Clover Park and Bates Technical Colleges are out.  Take your Compass Test (entry) early so you can get into a vocational program this spring or next fall.  Pick up a flyer in the EHS Career Center to find out the steps to take to get started.  Remember, scholarships and financial aid are available for technical schools as well as colleges.


Washington Business Week is currently taking applications for their summer program for 9th-12th graders.  This is a six day, intensive experience where high school students live on a college campus and take part in a simulated work environment, developing skills in leadership, teamwork, and communication.  Participating students can even earn college credit.  Pick up more information in the Career Center.
